Introduction
Droga5 is an advertising agency devoted to the brands that will shape the 21st century. We are a creative and strategic collective with diverse backgrounds and vast experience that specializes in ideas that influence, grow, accelerate and generate their own natural momentum. We strive to be faster, smarter, better and more effective. And since every client is unique, so are our solutions: we’re proud not to have a house style. We do our best work with brands and people that have ambitious mandates and share our values and sensibilities: humanity, relevance and a desire for positive contribution.

Summary
Droga5’s Communications Manager will support all agency communications efforts, including but not limited to: crafting narratives and identifying themes that promote and elucidate the agency’s key executives, clients and campaigns; collaborating across departments to align on all external communications initiatives and tell joined-up stories; and executing a proactive social media and event strategy that supports the agency’s goals for increased awareness and engagement. The candidate may also at times be tasked with communications efforts on behalf of the agency’s clients.

The candidate’s key stakeholders will be Droga5’s CEO and Communications Director, as he or she will work closely with them to deliver a communications strategy that supports the goals of senior management and connects the internal and external dots.

The candidate must be dynamic, resourceful, curious and creative, posses excellent writing and time management skills, and exhibit strong editorial judgment. He or she must also be interested in and have experience with new media.

  • Help strengthen or build relationships with key journalists, event organizers and influencers
  • Help develop and manage a social media program to meet the needs of the agency
  • Be proactive and innovative about how we share content in a visually-led digital age
  • Stay ahead of the news cycle and trending stories; bring new and unique story and partnership ideas to the table

  • At least two years PR, communications, or marketing experience; advertising or PR agency background and/or knowledge preferred
  • A degree in journalism, PR, marketing or a relevant Arts and Humanities subject

  • Strong writing and editing training -- with experience in social media, a facility with corporate communications and a proven ability to write in different tones
  • Fluency with emerging technologies and platforms like Radian6, Klout and Chartbeat with a proven ability to drive growth, likes and follows
